Friends

Have you ever looked at an old friend you haven't talked to in years and just know that your life was a lot more fun when they were your very best friend in the world? I have.

Do you ever go hang out with a friend who brings their friend along and all of a sudden you don't exist? I have.

Do you ever go somewhere and see a friend that you've known since you were two, but you were never really friends with them, yet when you see them one more time and look deeper than the outside of them you realize you've been missing out on a really great friend? I have.

I've been going to the same church since I was born and I have friends that I've been i the same class with since birth and we were old enough to be friends we were. Although some of them have been in the same class as me, but I never noticed them. In the month of May, school was settling down to a close and one Tuesday my youth pastor said we were having a clean out the dungeon (the name of the middle school meeting place), so I went, but only one of my friends showed up. So I was helping this one girl. She's my age, gone to the church since birth, and really incredibly nice. We hit it off immediately and I couldn't believe I'd never talked to her before. I mean maybe we've talked before, but I never was friends with her and now that I think about I have no idea why we never did become friends. Now we are really close and she's one of my best friends.

A new girl started going to our church around February and she's just a great person and we are best friends. Another new girl around March, now we are really close. Yet, some of the old friends I had, well we're drifting I'm trying to stay lose to them, but this year I really started talking to God a lot more and really letting Him take me where I'm supposed to be. Now that I'm doing that, my eyes have really opened and I realize that some of the people I was friends with were not people I should be hanging out with. Yet I think He's showing me new people that are amazing and way better than any of the friends I would've thought to hang out with. My life's a ton better and I'm really happy where I am in life. If you let God take control of your life and watch what He can do for you, you'll be amazed at how much better you'll feel and how much your life will turn around.
